Slow down, be cautious, think before you click or respond.
Always think about the context. Is what they're asking you for or asking you to do sound right?
If you suspect the email is phishy, use the phish report button in your email to let us know.
Don't be fooled just because the sender seems to know you or this campus. Remember, it's all about the context.
Report any suspicious emails to security@udublin.edu.
Remember fishing attacks are not just emails. They can be text messages and even phone calls too.
If in doubt, or if you think it might be genuine, check first with the sender using some other means or channel.
Be especially vigilant for emails that ask you to share or reset a password.
Don't be rushed by a sense of urgency, or even a veiled threat.
Don't open any attachments to an email, unless you're expecting it and you know the person sending it.
