Because malware is everywhere, your vigilance needs to be everywhere too. These tips should help.

Always be careful what you click on and especially email links and attachments.

Be discerning in what websites you visit, to avoid “drive by” downloads.

Never download software from questionable sources.

Make sure you have antivirus software on every computer and device, and it’s always up to date.

Only download trusted apps and only if you really need them.

Don’t plug a thumb or USB drive into a computer unless you know what’s on it.

If you’re traveling for work, avoid the guest computers at hotels.

Be wary of sites offering free malware removal services.

Keep your software constantly patched and updated.

Don’t allow other people to use your computers.
